Facility
Summer Valley Equestrian Center is a beautiful 70 acre facility located in Chesterfield, VA. Approximately 10 miles from the intersection of Hull Street Road (360) and Rt. 288, Summer Valley is nestled off of River Road. There are three barns containing a total of 30 stalls, a covered arena with lights, and miles of trails.* The 60+ acres of rolling pastures, each with a run-in, allows us to offer both full board and pasture board. Full boarded horses are housed in stalls during the hot summer days and cold winter nights and are turned out during the summer nights and winter days. All pasture boarded horses are brought in twice a day and fed individually. This enables us to closely examine all horses twice a day for injuries and illness and apply blankets as needed. Summer Valley is an ideal barn for those looking to compete in the hunter, jumper, or dressage arenas as well as those looking to enjoy their retired horses. While not required, we have a trainer on site, or you can bring your own. Please schedule an appointment to come see and fall in love with this beautiful boarding facility! Both full and pasture board are offered at Summer Valley.
Around the Barn
Summer Valley's barn was originally a chicken house. Many years ago it was cleaned out and converted into a horse barn. This gives us the unique opportunity to have many stalls but ample space for everyone to spread out to care for their horses.

One of Our Success Stories
"Kizzy and I just had our first canter in an open field in 6 months! I am so happy I could cry! And it’s 100% thanks to you- if it weren’t for you, I’d be 2k In the hole and have a horse in the ground. I’ll truly never be able to thank you enough!"
- Nora Wilson, Kizzy's owner
When Kizzy suffered a leg injury in the summer of 2019, the vet recommended euthanasia. Not wanting to give up on Kizzy, Nora asked for Joe's help. Joe treated Kizzy's leg daily for months. Thanks to Joe's extensive efforts, Kizzy made a miraculous recovery, and Kizzy and Nora are back in the saddle again!
