Currently Stewart Mawyer shoes horses for Summer Valley. If you would like to use Stewart, your horse will be placed on a rotation. We will hold your horse, and you will be charged for the shoeing/trim on your next monthly bill. If you would prefer to use your own farrier, you will be responsible for holding your own horse and payment. Also, we ask that you not schedule your farrier during feeding time (7-9AM and 4-6 PM).
Summer Valley uses Virginia Equine for all of our veterinary services. We strongly request that you use Virginia Equine for your veterinary needs. All of our horses are vaccinated on the same day in the spring and fall. If you choose to use your own veterinarian, you will be responsible for scheduling your appointments and holding your own horse. Also, we ask that you not schedule your appointment during feeding time (7-9AM and 4-6 PM). If you choose to use your own veterinarian, we require that you provide a copy of your horse’s vaccination records in the spring and fall. This allows us to ensure that all horses receive the proper vaccines.
Summer Valley requires all incoming horses to have a current, negative Coggins.
We strongly recommend your horse be vaccinated for Eastern Encephalomyelitis, Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, West Nile Virus, Influenza, Rhino, and Rabies.
